It Happened In The Night...A Creepy Writing Update

The following story is a true account of the terrifying events that occurred in the Sarchet home as told by one Mrs. Sarchet.

There I was, sitting on my bed and using my laptop to work on my story. I had been up for a while and decided I would call it a night, but before I had a chance to save my work and properly close my laptop, a rapidly moving spider crawled across my laptop screen. I panicked, but my husband did not wake up in time to destroy the foul beast that had interrupted my night, and thus I became destined to stay awake indefinitely so that the Freddy Krueger spider cannot attack me in my sleep.

Since the event occurred there have not been any further sightings of the Freddy Krueger spider. The Freddy Krueger spider is currently considered an armed and dangerous fugitive. He is wanted dead, and no attempts should be made to keep him alive.

_____________

It has been a while since I updated on my writing progress. Last month I was unable to focus much on my story due to my personal life, but I still had some great ideas that I noted while preoccupied. I finally have a window to write, and I am taking advantage of it to move the story forward. As I return to writing I have been reminding myself of my character's motivations. In fiction writing it is important to know your character's back stories. Even if it isn't entirely revealed to the audience, knowing your character's motivations is a tool that helps to develop them. It is the motivations that answer why a good man would suddenly become a villain or vice versa. Take for example the Freddy Krueger spider, he has been painted as a villain that should be put down (and as I hate spiders, I will not change my mind on that). Yet, he very well could have been trying to warn of a greater danger on the horizon (unlikely, but possible). That is how a villain can become a hero. Beyond character motivation, I am hoping to complete my full draft of chapter one soon. It has been an exciting journey so far and I cannot wait to see how it turns out for me. As I mentioned before, I am writing a romance story and that is not my forte.

Continue to write well,

~Mrs. Sarchet
